I was thinking all along that it was my water pump bearing going out , turnout out to be upper idler being bad. I'm getting full 60K soon but the shop is 35 miles away and I don't want the idler to seize on my (bearing is grinding badly)
I figure out this temporary belt routing

I couldn't find any thing that would prevent it from not making this doable (still haven't really tried it yet) other than lower contact area between crank pulley and belt but looking at Duratec diagram, it has very similar routing...
any thoughts on that?
