I was thinking all along that it was my water pump bearing going out , turnout out to be upper idler being bad. I'm getting full 60K soon but the shop is 35 miles away and I don't want the idler to seize on my (bearing is grinding badly)

I figure out this temporary belt routing

LmhOc

I couldn't find any thing that would prevent it from not making this doable (still haven't really tried it yet) other than lower contact area between crank pulley and belt but looking at Duratec diagram, it has very similar routing...

any thoughts on that?

Well guys. It's not idler either... I was close thou this time . It's from the same general are but behind timing belt cover .

(either way above diagram of new belt actually worked out great!)

How hard is it to replace that? Can I just pop in new one?

and forgive me about the condition of that side of the engine. Had the car for little bit over 1 month. Full 60K will be done in about a week...

UPDATE

I just talked to Tom and I will try to make it to his shop. If I get stranded along the way he will send a tow truck.

You can try to replace it on the car. Just get engine to TDC and attempt to loosen the tensioner and slide the belt off that idler pulley, then replace it. DO NOT LET THE ENGINE/CAMS ROTATE!!

yeah... no one wants to do a timing job on the side of the highway... its quite the pain in the ass. My best suggestion would be to **** the **** out of it if you can, and then drive it to where you need to go. Youll burn the oil or grease up before you destroy the bearing

Why would I do the timing job on the side of the highway. Like I said, I will attempt to make it to the shop, if it breaks half way, I'll tow it. It will get a complete 60K anyway.

Weird thing is I already did about 25 miles with the idler destroyed and it still runs normal , minus the grinding sound... I'll grease it before I leave. I should make it on low revs.

Idk why I was thinking the highway lol, but yeah grease never hurts. $5 in grease can save $$ for the tow bill
