OK....
Ive had the idle/ stalling woes forever now.
I installed a new IAB valve to see if this would help. No dice, smae old stalling.
What if I installed new plug well gaskets and plug wires? They do have oil in them. This will be the cause of my very sluggish and poor milage?
I did run the codes and got a "217"
New ignition coil also?
Damn this is gettin pricey!

What do I do here?

you definately need to clean out those plug wells and yes the oil can cause sluggish acceleration and bad mileage. you should also reset the idle when you get them cleaned out.

as far as he 217 goes, that doesnt sound too good. i dont know how you would test something like that really but maybe someone else does. good luck!

The oil in the plug wells definitely needs to be cleaned out.

The 217 is probably causing more of a problem than the oil though. Too bad you spent money replacing the IAC valve before checking the coil pack. Maybe you can still return the IAC valve and get your $$$ back.

Someone (projectsho89 IIRC) recently posted the procedure for testing the coil pack. I'm pretty sure AutoZone can also test it for you for free, and can sell you a Wells C925 replacement in the ~$75 range.

You think I should replace my plug wires while Im in there?
I know they are the origianl ones.
The plug wires dont show any visible signs of wear and tear. And I might as well do the new plug well gasket job?

IMHO, yes, replace the wires with either the Motorcrafts from FPN, or the Taylor 8mm Spiro Pro wires from Summit Racing (#TAY-74628 $75). New plugs from FPN (AGSP32PP-The ONLY plug). As far as the coil, I recently (1week) bought one off e-bay for $15. The seller said he had one more that he was planning on posting in the near future. Also, check the "Nostrils" in the intake manifold for carbon deposits...Mine were crusted over and hard as a rock!! Good luck :)
