Well I got my SHO back running. But know its idle too high. When its in park its 1500. When i rev it to 2300, it stays on 2300 until I turn off the car. I don't know what is wrong. I had just finsihed changing the valve gaskets, oil well plugs, intake gasket, wireset and spark plugs. I'm thinking that it may be the gas because when I put the car to the side for finanical problems it had half tank of gas from way back from sept. At first when I drove the car and then I parked it leaving it on. It would stay at higher rpm then when it was first turned on. After a 2 hours of having the engine on and driving around the rpm went down to the 1500 when put in park. Please help the SHO FOOL.
thanks

If you think it's the gas there's always some chemical restorers you can buy at the auto parts store. Could be a faulty IAB or tps. The throttle position sensor is fairly cheap. There is a procedure on how to clean the IAB on the shotimes faq. There is a link to the faq on shoclub.com. Go to care and feeding of the SHO. There is a model year where the IAB isn't very cleanable not sure which year. You will be able to tell if it's all 1 unit or is together with small screws.

Make sure the throttle cable and shaft are moving smoothly and easily. Verify that the throttle shaft rotates back to the stop screw. It sounds like they could be hanging up. You may have a vacuum leak that is letting in unmeasured air. Verify the vacuum hose to the secondary accumulator on the back center of the intake's rear plenum. Also check the vacuum hose to the fuel pressure regulator on the passenger side of the fuel rails. Did the intake sit down on the alignment pins on the head without any force or did you have to jam it back on?
