idle problems

Okay when I'm sitting at a red from time to time my idle jumps up and down and it makes my Car want to move so what could this problem be

How many RPM?

Look at the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve first. May not be it, but it is a good place to start.

Next would be the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS).

It will jump to about 1500 rpm then drop down to below 1000 and up again then when I drive it will stop it might happen two or three times a week

It sounds more like the TPS to me than the IAC. Both are easy fixes, though, so it almost does not matter which you start with.
