my car is still having problems. i had the codes read and all that came up last time was ECT sensor(coolant temp sensor), and O2 sensors stuck lean. i bought 2 new O2's and new ECT sensor. i'm putting them in on sunday. i also just replaced the IAC and IAB. could these problems all be due to permanent lean state from the sensors? the fuel pump doesn't make any noise and the car always starts right up. please help cause I really want to run the SHO at the track this friday.

Thanx in advance.

First off, VERY sharp car. I like it. Second, your ECT sensor probably went dead first, keeping the computer in open loop mode, which over time destroyed your O2's. I'm sure they were on their way out anyhow though. Replace these parts and you should be in business. Check the cats too. If you have been running rich for extended periods of time they may be on their way out too.

I have been having the same problem your describing. I changed my ECT in my '95 and now sometimes my CE light comes on. I think I have destroyed my O2 sensors and most likely my cats.
Oh well, nothing like a couple of bottles of Chevron Techron won't fix :) What is in that stuff anyway, because my car really loves it and starts right up with it too, well whenever it is in the tank.

well i'll be damned! i replaced all that stuff($134 worth) and it didnt solve a damn thing. i was checking the codes manually and it was bringing up 157, 181, 172,189, 175, 183. these almost all consist of lean codes. so i'm thinking why would it run so damn lean? i pulled off the MAF plug and it immediatly ran better. accelerates like its running NOS, spins all through 1st and 2nd gear, and chirps 3rd! idles better so far. so i think i need new MAF electronics. so here i go, off to find one. if any body has an old working maf please let me know so i dont have to buy the whole unit.

The codes you listed point to a problem with the MAF that is causing the lean condition. Replacing the MAF electronics should go a long way toward solving your problem.
