Mr. Goodwrench
Well I before the meet, a little painting need to get done on a few of our cars. I've got a shop that I can seal off to make a car sized paint booth. I've also got an HVLP. If anyone want to come out you're welcome.
I know that Paul needs to paint the new bumper and radiator cover for his, and sidestreet may be painting his hood. I also want to get a little practice in before I (maybe) paint the '93.
I am a Sherwin-Williams employee, so I get 40% the paint and supplies. Just for an idea, for paint, primer, clearcoat, and reducers enough to paint the front clip on a car is about $150-175. The only S-W automotive store in NE is in Omaha. If you decide to get SW paint let me know, I WILL PICK IT UP!!! and use my discount. I will be heading up there a couple of days before hand to get all the paint everyone needs. If anyone does decide to go this route, I will need to know a little earlier to get the $$$ arangement, (paypal, etc.)
They also have spray cans if it's something minor, as do most parts stores. I've had good luck with AZ Dupli-color. Feel free to bring whatever you want to use. FWIW, K&K down on 23rd & Ost in Lincoln can also match automotive paint and put it into spray cans. What all they need to do this, IDK. But I'm guessing just you're paint code.
I'll have a whole stall of my garage sealed off, so size isn't an issue, unless you think you need to paint that old duece and a half.
I'm certainly not going to charge anything for labor, but enough to pay for some misc. supplies that I need for this (respirator, plastic drops, rosin paper,....all of which I can get from my store) A few buck each should cover this stuff pretty easily.
Just let me know if anyone's interested, or if you just want to come hang out. I live about 15 minutes west of Lincoln, just SE of Denton. And 3.5 miles of GRAVEL, Sorry.
Again, I, and probably everyone else would like to do this before the meet. I'm thinking the 29th or 30th, or both depending on how many parts need to be painted. It's kind of short notice, but every one's certainly welcome. If it's nice maybe we can grill out.
The makeshift paint booth will be pretty easy to put back up if anyone can't make it. I have no problem doing this on an individual basis either, but it's a good chance to meet each other and hang out.
