So my SHO's finally back together, and I don't have reverse gear. Oh well, I can live with that. My problem is now the car won't start! After we put it back together, we started a few times, but the engine was like grumbling, and we had to keep the accelerator pressed just a bit just so it wouldn't turn off. When it got a bit warm, my friend removed the air sensor thing from the maf, and it suddenly went calm, and it stayed steady. No gas was needed to start it now, and everything seemed to be back to normal. Took off the battery, then put it back on later. Same thing, only this time I tried removing the sensor but that didn't do anything. So now, I got a complete SHO that won't turn on. Battery's new, plugs are new, clutch, flywheel are new. Even the spark plug wires are new. Hmm...I know that probably doesn't have anything to do with it. I need to figure out what's wrong, and I'm no mechanic. Any ideas would be awesome since I'm borrowing my grampa's truck and he needs it back by the end of the week. I got to get my baby running! Thanks

Check the Spark Plug wire routing... It is wrong in some service manuals and easy to get confused:

Engine:

1 2 3
4 5 6

Coil Pack:
5 1
6 2
4 3

It has about 155k...I got it around 110k. My friend was saying something about the CPS. I have no idea where it is though. I'll call him and probably buy that just to be safe since I have no idea when if at all it was replaced. As for the spark plug wire routing. We double checked that, but I guess it doesn't hurt triple checking. I'll do it tomorrow when the sun's out. Thanks for the ideas. I'll try them both, and if you have 'em more, keep 'em coming. Any bit helps.... thanks

If the engine is running, the CPS is working. You should check for vacuum leaks and the proper engine ground path. Was the engine running normally before you started the clutch service? Were you able to get the transaxle into reverse before the service? Did you take the transaxle apart during the work? So many questions....
