Rock Auto has a "front coil spring seat" for 20 bucks, but it says they have nothing for an insulator!

Can't find anything from AA.

My Ford dealer say's he can't get it.

Mine are ripped in half.

What do I do?

A bit

Ive got ubber stiff motor mounts (my urethane mounts), Aluminum Subframe bushings, ad every suspension bushing has been upgraded to TPR.

Mine were shot too, when I did my suspension last.

This is the lower on the front, correct? It has been a while.... are they the pads, or the sleeves that slip over the coil spring?

the pads that sit on the pirch.

I could have sworn that I saw them for like 15 bucks a pop last night on some site, but now I have no idea.

Running w/ out them actually doesn't sound too bad, and it'll save me $30+.

I guess I have my answer... lol.

But the kid at PepBoys asked me something I didn't know, so here goes:

Would it be wiser to run your old insulators (if not torn) or none at all if you can't get new ones. This is pretty much my situation, since I can get good used ones from a parts assembly.

Thanks guys,

Matt

PS> I'll probably just run without them.

I wouldn't put the ratty ones in.

I personally think they were an afterthought by ford who couldn't find a rattle at one point or another, and do little more than create a medium to retain salt and water and other crap to rust the springs and perches...

Do mean that the lack of coil insulators inhibit the SHO's top speed?

Or something else?

Whatever.

So the verdict for anyone looking for insulator information is that you do not need them.

Thanks all for your input.

Just cut a piece of garden hose that has a diameter that will fit over the coil. Cheap and simple.
