I got Hosed

an aquantence(******* ) told me that he just bought a powder coating gun and said he would coat my rims for a 100 bucks i found out the next day that they are paint. How can i get them off with out ******* them up i tried,paint stripper,brake fluid(supposed to **** paint right away)alchol and gas. WHat else can i do i thought maybe sandblasting. Will that mess them up?

If the paint isn't coming off with brake fluid, and its only been on there for 1 day, its not cured all the way yet, it doesn't sound like they are painted. And even if they are, why take it off as long as it looks good and is what you wanted them to look like. $100 to have the painted is still a pretty good deal.

well let rephraze that they have been on for a couple of months i realized they were painted and didn't do shit cause i didn't care at the time but now i want them stock and the fluid didn't work

If brake fluid did not remove it I doubt it is paint. I have powder coating gun and brake fluid will not touch the power coat (works good as cleaner for it though ). Try Bearymans Chemidip or aircraft stripper (the really thick kind), those 2 things will remove about anything.

Okay thanks for the help but before i expiriment again he told me it was paint, after i bitched and second will it **** up my rims.

Yes,Aircraft Stripper,but don`t get the thick paste.You can get it in a spray can,it`s less of a mess.Spray it on,let sit per instructions,the paint comes right off.I`ve used it on slicers specifically,it works great,hardly any hand work involved.

yeah,you really miss out on peeling dead skin off your hands from all the chemicals and course grit sandpaper.

okay i did the aircraft remover and it took the ford finish off too. does anybody have any suggestions. for the paint and powder coating etc

Heck, with all the finishes off of aluminum wheels, I would just polish them up and clear coat them with, say, Imron clear. Look like the real aluminum they are rather than steel wheels! Pretty hard to beat Imron!!
