I am taking my engine apart, and I need to get the Crank gear that the timing belt uses off. I have a pulley puller, but I cant find any 6mm bolts long enough to use it. What do I do?? Any suggestions where to go to get the bolts? or alternatives for getting the gear off???

I got my bolts at the local hardware store. I used my harmonic balencer puller. Once you start removing the balencer, it may come iff by hand. The key is to have equal pressure on both bolts that thread into the balencer. You must keep the balencer square. :thumb:

On the ATX, there is one of the timing cover bolts is the correct size and length. MTXs have two that will work.

A correct sized bolt is sometimes hard to find. My local NAPA happened to have one bolt that would work.

I found a 6mmx75mm bolt at a local hardware store, Finally. I used the pulley puller and it came right off. I got the crankshaft off tonight. The engine is down to the block, heads and pistons. I will post some pictures once I figure out how. Thanks guys
