How much pull should I have past 60 mph?

I recently rebuilt my 3.2 with 3.0 cams. While rebuilding, I decided to rebuild the ATX and add a superior correction shift along with the **** dam. Now I am unsure as to how much power this engine should have. It seems to pull pretty good in 1st gear and the shift from 1 to 2nd is awesome. When I am going 55 or so and pass someone, it shifts down and for a moment it seems to lack power. It revs up but doesnt seem to pull much until it shifts back into 3rd. At this point it runs decent. However, once I push it up to around 90, the power starts to taper off. It really doesnt feel like it will go much past 100 or so. I know this cant be correct. I have no idea where to start. No check engine light either. What do you guys think?

Does it not downshift occasionally? Just kind of moans and stays in the wrong gear? Does it "bang" into a gear at medium throttle, but shift good
at full throttle, or light throttle? Does it run good if shifted manually?
It is probably either the MAF, or the VSS... The symptoms listed above are
all indicative of a bad vehicle speed sensor... But, a bad MAF can duplicate
most of these.... The VSS is a real pain to get to... Good luck.:thumb:

Baby it, or beat on it!!

Sounds like the dreaded VSS..... It is hard to get to, but easy to change..
Do a search on "VSS", and there are a few different methods of getting to it.
I need to change mine also, but the LPM I put in seems to make up for a lot.
Here are some tips:, use light throttle, this gives good shifts, moderate shifts seem to give me the most trouble. I usually let off the gas just a hair,
this seems to keep it from "slamming" into gear when you don't want it to.
I find that if I drive it in either "granny" mode, or "LET'S GO!" mode, I can
avoid most of those problems... It's like driving an older ATX, let off the gas a little, it upshifts, stomp it, it downshifts. I found that (for me) when I shift
from reverse to "D" if I wait a full second, it does not beat up my worn out bushings nearly as bad. Or from Park to "D". I have had cars that you could back up, and drop into "D", and take off.. Then again, I had a car that I did just that, and it blew up the pinion yoke!! Damn Plymouth!
Experiment with your shift points, and throttle application, you will soon learn
how to drive "around" your problems.. My wife can't get the hang of it, but
I have learned to baby it or beat on it... Works for me!:thumb:

I know how to change the VSS. I just rebuilt the tranny and had the sucker out. Anyway, it does feel as if I give it half throttle that I get more response then if I go WOT. As far as shifting, I have no issues with that. The tranny shifts beautifully. I have switched maf's and this hasnt changed anything. I do notice at 55 or that my speedo starts to wiggle back and forth. Not sure if this is a symptom of a VSS. It just feels like it should have more

Maybe your O2's are getting "lazy".... They usually fail slowly..
What grade fuel are you using? Your car may be pulling timing on you..
I wish I could be more help, but mine is almost the exact opposite, part throttle= so-so, W.O.T.=:woohoo: Have you checked your secondaries for
proper operation? Beats me..

I have new o2's, wires, and plugs. I made sure this was all done while doing my rebuild. I am using midgrade but have also used premium and I dont notice much difference. I can hear the secondaries open at 4000 rpm. All I know is that my wife's 03 Sable dohc will outrun this thing.

Diagnosticians!!!!

   That there is a real head scratcher.... DIS?
Bueler? Bueler? Bueler? O.K. you diagnostic gurus, what can allow a nice first gear run, good 1-2 shift, then make it fall on it's face?
I can guess all night, but this guy needs a better guess than mine, at this point.........
Of course, I AM ********..

Maybe I should record a video of the speedo during acceleration. Its not that it falls on its face but it seems to run out of power as it approaches 75 or so. It honestly does not feel any quicker or stronger after the rebuild. I am also finding that it has a mis at idle. I am trying to diagnose this as well. I have a spare ignition coil. Maybe I should swap it. This is frustrating...
