Well I pick up my JL 6W0 subwoofer tonight. It is a 6.5" sub that I am going to put in the stock sub enclosure. It will be powered by an MTX Thunder 4122 amp that puts out 120 watts bridged @ 4 oms. I am also going to rewire my JVC 50x4 deck to go around the factory JBL amps and power the other four speakers from the deck instead. My fronts are Pioneer 6.5" 2 ways and the rears are still factory JBL (which are going to be replaced soon as well.

Will I notice much of a difference with this setup compared to stock JBL? Any recommendations on 6x8's or 5x7's that are quality at a good price? Thanks.

You should notice a differentce though you may want to have the head unit power the speakers. 6x9s will go in to the back though I have 5x7s. Pioneer, Kenwood, and Alpine make good speakers. If you more concerned about price you might want to go with Pioneer they are usually much cheaper but still good quality.

Yea I bought the wiring harness to use the head unit's amp instead of the factory so that will be done tonight.

The setup will be:

JVC 50x4 (24x4rms) head unit powering:
*6.5" Pioneer 2 way fronts
*6x8" Pioneer 3 way rears

MTX 4122 amp 120 watts powering:
*JL 6W0 6.5" sub in stock enclosure
