I have owned a 97 grand prix GTP, 2 grand prix GXPs and now a 2013 taurus SHO. I will say I loved the GXP's and really wanted to jump to a g8 gt or GXP. Really hard to find one with low mileage and decent price though. I found my SHO with 44k miles on it for a little over 15k. When I got into it I knew right away it had to be mine. My wife and I both loved it given all the options and size. Firstly I'm 6'8" tall so most cars are a no go. Second I have 2 kids so with my seat all the way back both kids have plenty of room. This car was babied by the previous owner and I havent found a single flaw. Well the only issue I found is the radio will randomly scan channels multiple times a trip out of nowhere but that's minor. This car feels like a totally different league than the GXP and its plenty fast stock. I will be doing performance mods and being an audiophile at heart I will strip all the speakers out for quality component speakers and likely a sub or two. I'm tempted to custom mount 2 8 inch Memphis mojo subs in the rear deck since there is only 1 speaker in the center. Any recommendations are welcome and look forward to reading more posts from everyone here.

Nice find. I am really fond of the Supercharged 3800 series.....

Welcome to the SHO! I would change the PTU fluid and coolant ASAP.

I loved my GTP back in the day. The thing finally quit running 2 weeks ago when the kid of the person I sold it to ran into a concrete highway divider in the rain. The 3.8 is one of the all time best running motors in American autos. I looked at GXPs a few years ago but they looked ragged out for the price they were asking.

Welcome!

At one time, I was looking for a GXP too. They're getting harder to find....at least nice ones are.

Good luck with your mods! If you've done any searches, you'll see a general consensus on vendors and mods. If you DON'T see an answer, make sure you ask! It'll help avoid making a potential mistake (and yes, it IS possible).

And to be honest, I'm especially looking forward to your audio modifications...so please make sure you post your progress?

Welcome, I loved my 2004 GTP CompG, it was a super fun car!

Although, I think my '18 SHO is more fun, AWD is so great.

Did the previous owner put those wheels on? I didn't know you could get a SHO with 18s. Those are 18s right?

Also, tall people... Always looking down at the rest of us. Am I right guys?

Looks like they are 19” and were available from Ford on the SHO model in ‘13. According to the brochure...

They are 19" indeed. I will either get the 20" SHO rims from that year or do something with black on these ones. I mean literally speaking yes we look down on everyone unless I walk around on my knees and you would come up to my shoulders :) but as far as talking shit, never have. It was always the short guys with little dog syndrome that would pick fights for no reason at the bar. I am the gentlegiant, laid back and easy to get along with.
