the things im not too sure about is the rod bearings and valve lash(which i believe the cover seals go with), im dang sure i can do the rest, cuz i did em on my old slo.......then i rolled it like 2 months later......idk i gotta call some people around here to do some of this stuff, idk i got some motorcycle guys around here that talk about valve lash, so they might be able to do that.....but rod bearings idk about.....

Yeah I bet you could do it. Ive never done rod bearing but Ive done 2 60K's by myself and your a few months older than me, not that age has anything to do with it. But whatever you choose to do I wish you luck man :thumb:

BTW I bet you could pull off some rod bearings, but Im sure it would be easier if you had something else to drive while the car was out of service so there is no rushing as I hear you just need to take your time with rod bearings.

If you don't don't live to deep in Iowa and close to Omaha, I could help you do it for beer....

Hey, Look....
I am not the only one in Omaha...
Wow. I thought I was the only SHO guy left out here.

I live in Millard. Some chick pilled in the back of my SHO on tuesday, so it's not in the best of shape as of right now, but I will fix it. Check out the the website listed in the posts above.
There are a few SHO guys left in Omaha. The SHO in like an endangered beasty here. You should get ahold of me for the next time me and the F-Body guys go to Scribner to run it. I have the motor out of Z28 right now, and don't have anything else to race but the SHO. It's the sickest Sh*t, me and you in a couple of 4 door taurus' surrounded by about 10 4th gen camaros and firebirds. Sad thing is that I can beat a couple of them.

You should get ahold of me about that 60k. I got my parts damn cheap:
I recently installed:

High flow Y-pipe(expensive)
underdrive pullies
cold air intake
hand ported and polished runners and the head ports
installed big bore butterflies
water pump
front motor mount
new starter
recharged the AC
changed both half shalf seals
changed cam chain tensioners
changed the rod bearings
new brakes

60K was done by a shop who also did a clutch when I bought the car. The clutch lasted about 2500 miles and then stop disengaging(the throwout bearing sleeve was moving with the bearing and contacting the clutch disc) so it had to be redone.

things left to do:
fix the dent in my quarter panel where the chick hit me(my clain was denyed be her insurance...I think I will take her to small claims)
mysterious sweaking noise coming from drivers side when turning the wheel...some kind of strut bearing or steering support bushing.
New driver side seat.

Install a NOS kit.

Before I did all the work above(I had cold air, UDP, and Y-Pipe already installed) and with a rod rattling(I though it was something in the valve train) the car ran a 15.15@93mph at scribner with a horrific 2.55 60' time. I just want to get it into the 14's. I think if I hit it with a 50 shot and the mods listed above, and get good traction, I should pick up .6 and 5mph, if i can get it to hook. I need an LPM to get those secondaries to open up a little sooner. This thing is a dog until 4 grand.
