How many members do we have in West Michigan?

I would like to set up a meet for those who live in the Grand Rapids/Kentwood/Grandville/Wyoming/Rockford area, or some places that are a little more out there. I know JoesSHO and Todras live here in GR, just seeing if we have more people in the West Michigan area. As soon as i found out how many people live around here, we could all figure out where to meet. If there isn't enough people to have a meet, then I guess I could call it off.

Any help is appreciated.

:edit: I love it... guy doesn't even have a SHO and he wants to set up a meet Seriously though, come to Lapeer on the 29th. You're about 2.5 hours away and it will be one of the bigger SHO meets in the area.

If the weather is nice, I wouldn't be surprised to see 15-20 cars. SHO's, SLO's, Contours & other misc performers.

Honestly... all the west MI people I know of visit this forum. I understand you wanting to get folk together in your neck of the woods, but one of the reasons we have regional forums is to help keep the main forums free of local stuff.

m glad you reminded me about the Lapeer meet Chris. I totally forgot. That's definately worth a sick day. I've been wanted to get to the track one last time with cooler weather than we had at the convention just so I can officially boast a 13 sec SHO. I smell a 13.7 at 104 or 105.

Jim, I got something u'll be interested in to help get you into the 13's !! Just picked up a few sets of rear spring blockers. They slide into the rear springs to stop that rearend squat so you can keep more of the power&torque up front! Call me for details.

I know what you're talking about... I had them on my plus to snatch that 14.8 I am interested. Bill, do you also have any extra Aluminum SFB's laying around? I'll have to give you a call tonight... the only other thing I want done before the drag day is to finish and install my home-made reinforced trans mount.

Sorry- I just got on the Tri-forum tonight for the first time in a while- I usually get sleepy before I get that far down on the board...

Can't make Lapeer on the 29th, I'm going up north to try and fill my freezer with venison before it gets too cold. (The weather, not my freezer...)



Another question for you GR/Hastings locals- does anyone know anything about the blue SHO for sale on M37 just north of Hastings? Or the green ATX 1995 that was for sale on Wilson and M45? Just curious...

Well since this is seemingly directed at me... as I am the only Grand Rapids/Hastings member, who just happens to spend half my week in Grandville and half in Hastings, I will answer with what I know...

The blue SHO North of Hastings/South of Middleville is a 170k (appox from memory) Mile ATX that is in somewhat rough shape, the description on the window states the trans. is dead. Maybe a good 3.2 donor? If i had the $$ i would pick it up and go through the 3.2 for a swap and part the rest.
They want $1000 for it.

I have also seen the green one on Wilson MANY MANY times over the last 3-4 years (Before I owned mine even), and always on Wilson. Unfortunately I have never stopped to get the scoop on it because it wasn't around when I was out to buy. It looks to be in pretty good condition judging from the road passing by so many times.

On another note, there is a 93 Blue (the darker one) ATX with unknown to me miles, that is in very good body condition and looks to drive well also (I witnessed someone leaving on a test drive). It is located just south of 28th Street on Byron Center in Wyoming. The place it sits is an Auto Garage by the name of Bob and Daves Garage.
I've been drooling over this one for quite a while, I just dont have the $$ for another one right now.

For anyone around the GR Metro area who might be interested in meeting up to BS or what-not, I am ALWAYS in the GR area during the weekend and often a few days before and after. Let me know.

I drove that 93 dark blue. It has 160,000 miles on it. The owner works at Duthler (which is now Fox) Ford, and I guess he is the original owner, and it was his wifes car. She got a brand new explorer, so he wanted to sell. I checked on it and I think he is going to give it to his daughter. Oh and the tranny seemed fine.

I also looked at that blue one by Bob 'n Dave's before I bought my red MTX- I wanted a stick. It was a bit chewed up around the rear quarters, but overall it wasn't too bad.

The green ATX in Standale was listed for $1,500 and had tranny issues. (ATX) but was a 50 foot car- get any closer and it looked a lot worse. The rear bumper cover was shredded, the side window trim was pulling off, dents, dings, and the rear window was leaking- and had about 5 lbs. of sealant spooged around it. The interior was good, though. I was going to buy it for the seats, wheels and tires, and resell it, but if the tranny went out, I would have been screwed on an expensive donor car, since they wouldn't take any less. Last week, it was all detainled, the sign was gone, and apparently was either sold, or off the market- it was still in the Ralph's parking lot.

I stopped to look at the blue one in Hastings, but the body wasn't the best, and it was an ATX, so I kept going. For $1,000 though, they'd probably take $500 and I could have a 3.2 donor, depending on how the motor is. Maybe I should look at it again.
