If the check engine light comes on, the computer does store a code.

If you retrieve it improperly, you will erase it.

Double check your procedure.

PS Stay in your original thread, don't start new ones unless it's for a different subject.

The 10 code doesn't make any sense. You either get all 2 digit codes or all 3 digit codes depending on the year. I believe 93-95 are 3 digit codes. Go here http://www.shotimes.com/SHO3eeccodes3.html to found out what the codes mean.

The 111 means everything is fine, so it doesn't make sense how everything would be fine and then there would be additional trouble codes.

Anyway, after double- and triple-checking the codes, if you're sure there's a 214, that points to a faulty Camshaft IDentification sensor. Yes, I capitalized CID intentionally.

Make sure, really really sure, you don't have a 211, as this typically indicates a bad Crank Position Sensor (PIP).

As previously mentioned, you can't have a code "10" on anything '92-'95.

Your symptoms, trouble starting when hot, are very similar to mine when my CID sensor went bye-bye. Luckily for you it's a cheap and easy fix!

Good luck.

you can get a 111 and then have codes. the 111 just means that everything went fine in that portion of the test but then the test continued and there were other problems.

My apologies. I've never, for example, gotten a 111 and also had a trouble code, so I didn't realize this could happen!
