How do i put a new deck in my 89 sho

i dont know if i should rewire all the speakers and bypass the amp or what i should do if someone can help that would be awesome. the soundsystem is the stock jbl and i want to put an older sony cdplayer in it. if anyone can help thanks

buy the harness plug, wire it to the new deck and just plug it in to the existing harness

buy the one for the harness up by the deck or by the amp

when you pull out your deck you will unplug a harness that plugs into the deck, go to a electronics store, maybe best buy( i bought mine at tweeter) and get the harness that plugs into that connection, all you would have to do is take the wires to your new deck and splice them into the new harness wires, then just connect the harness you bought into the harness that is in your car

I think you need to bypass the amp in order to get an aftermarket radio to work, I may be wrong though. Either way they sell a bypass plug but it may be a little difficult to find one.

You unplug the amp and you plug in the bypss plug in its place.

ok thanks so one last time i get the bypass for the amp and then just get the plug for the harness behind the stereo and wire the deck and im done?

just for the record, i didnt have to by pass anything and i used two different aftermarket head units, by buying that harness you shouldnt have to by pass anything, I could be wrong on that statement, but like i said both my aftermarket head units worked so i never even thought of it

buy the regular harness first then take it from there
