Anyone did a hot pipe delete that still has the old plastic pipes willing to part with for a few bucks I want to take it into my job and have the tube bending guy make me a set. Then take them over to the powder coating guy and get them done. If it works out right I'll make a couple sets before the company closes in March. .. I work for Flowmaster and they are shutting down march 2020 moving out of California.

And yes I'll be making a custom exhaust system for my car. Was thinking about putting the mufflers towards the front by the driver and passenger seats and run pipe straight out the back. I did this to a Dodge Intrepid with a 3.3L V6 and it sounded like a deep throaty sound And possibly making my own downpipes. Any thoughts or opinions appreciated.

Well my sympathies as it sounds like you will be losing your job. But, run a state into the ground and make it excessively cumbersome to operate a business and that’s what happens.

Cool shots though.

Awesome photos! Always cool to see the processes behind the scenes. I bought a few different Flowmaster systems back in the early 2000s for a few various C4 Corvettes I owned at the time... sad to see some of it's products will now be made overseas.

Well I may move to Kentucky and work with Holley.Inc. lol
I still have 6+ months of work. I'll be there untill every machine is out. Holley partner up with flowmaster over a year ago. Plus 80% employee discount is pretty good. :thumb:
Culture shock for sure if CA is long time home. But new experiences are good and cost of living would be nice. You could even get gas out of the high $3's-4/gallon. I paid 2.14 at the costco yesterday (only 87 oct. though). 93 was $2.40ish

I love Kentucky. Very cool place. The best things about the south are the food, the slower pace of life, and generally people are really nice.

Yeah only been back in California for 2 years. Kentucky's cost of living is lower I wouldn't mind paying $2.40 a gallon again instead $3 to $4 a gallon. Love the country life not a city slicker.. So we'll see what happens in 6 months.

Low cost of living is only beneficial if you get paid like you are still in a high cost of living area. I luckily enough have that setup, our company is based out of a high COL state. However, I'm in an office that's not in that high COL state, but they still pay us the same as those who are.

If you work for a local company in a low COL state though, you'll likely just get paid less and you don't really get ahead. Especially in non-professional field where the field of candidates is big.

Sucks your job is moving, but I'm glad to see any manufacturing leave Kommiefornia for a free state like Kentucky.

Me living in the California (Bay Area) the higher wages don’t make up the difference with the higher cost of living. For most jobs you only get paid a few bucks more in this area, doesn’t make up for double the rent/ house prices in other parts of the country.
That being said me and the family are packing up and taking our money to Texas, good bye California. I’ve lived here my whole life. You’re better off making your money in CA and then leaving.

I was in Louisville for an event and made my way out to Lorreto to tour Makers. On the back roads (you know exactly what I am talking about) to Lorreto I saw numerous makeshift drag races spots and alot of scratch rubber on the roads! It was amazing, and Lorreto really left a soft spot in my heart.
