My intake whistles at idle. Its a low pitched whistle...kind of a low C note. I thought it was coming from my air box, since the silencer was removed during the conversion into my wagon, but that's not the case -- its coming from within the intake (or at least beyond the MAF). It only does it fully warmed up, at idle, and it does not affect the drivability at all. Its just annoying. Any ideas as to what it could be and how to get rid of it?

Hmm. I had thought of the IAC, but figured it would cause surging...or at least erratic idle if it was acting up.

Mine does this after an autocross run, then it goes away. Intermittant vacuum leak of some kind?

OK...swapped IAC's with one I had laying in my toolbox (junkyard unit, probably...don't remember), but had the same results. Butterfly coupler? That one I'm not following...Whats that?

You still might want to try a new IAC.

The butterfly couplers are the rubber couplers between the six secondary butterflies and the six secondary intake runners.

I had the same problem with my old ATX. I ended up adjusting the TB valve open until the sound stopped. It raised the idle up a little but it was worth it to me.
