Currently on a trip from Southern Indiana all the way up to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I filled up before I left and again about 20 minutes South of Chicago. On the first tank of gas I averaged just over 31 mpgs. Then drove through Chicago, through a couple small towns in Wisconsin, and filled up at our final destination. On the second tank averaged about 28.5 mpgs. Overall, I averaged just under 30 mpgs for the entire trip. I was shocked to get that mileage on a vehicle that's rated 25 from the EPA.

On the way home Monday I'm going to revert back to stock tune and see if it drops down to 25 or sticks up around 30.

I drove 450 miles on a single tank of gas, due to a 40mph tailwind for half of the trip. I was averaging 35mpg.

If you were averaging 35 mpg, you should have been able to get over 550 miles out of a tank of gas. You probably could have gotten 600 miles out of a tank. Did you measure it, or is that just what the car said you were getting for mpg?

Awesome :thumb: Any hypermiling?
Nope. Just 100% cruising on the interstate for the first tank and probably 95% interstate cruising on the second tank. All the time cruise control set 5 mph over the speed limit (so mostly 70-75 mph).

Then today after 1 day of driving in the UP my front bumper looks like this (it will see another 3 days of this). Good thing I washed and waxed before the trip in preparation for this.

What tune were you running?

I drove from San Francisco to Las Vegas, which is exactly 450 miles. I still had gas in the tank, but filled up after checking into my hotel. I can't say for certain how far I could have gone.

*EDIT: I just checked online and the driving distance is supposed to be 568 miles.

We've been up at pictured rocks shoreline. Headed to Menominee tomorrow for the weekend. It's been great weather.

I haven't taken any long trips on my '15 yet, but the best I got on my '10 was 29 mpg. That trip was 99.9% at a steady 70 mph and less than a mile off the highway. I find that the mpg display is a couple mpgs optimistic over calculating it myself. This is with several vehicles and with filling the tank right up to the top of the filler tube so I can be accurate measuring the fuel consumption. I don't do that anymore because it backed up into the recovery system and filled the charcoal can on my '10. Luckily it was under warranty then and the dealer covered it.

I have also found the computer to be optimistic. For me i fill it until it clicks off and then slowly fill it until it clicks off again. This was all calculated manually, not on the computer.

My 15 min overall mpg is slightly higher then my calculated. However I discovered checking my 1&2 trip odometer, it measures gallons used , overall miles and overall mpg and seems more accurate of overall mpg. If it says I used 10.3 gallons, on fill up it is very close. I fill on slow until it pops and stop! After destroying the charcoal canister and purge valve on 3 different cars and subsequent costs, I am never going to go past that first pop off on filling the tank. Using the slow fill seems to get it as close to manual filling without fear of overflow as I want to be.

Just did a 400 mile trip yesterday I installed an AEM dry filter cruise at 76 and I averaged 28.4 mpg. I think that pretty damn good for 4400lb sport sedan!

Drove back on the stock tune for comparison on the same route and tried to fill up at the same location. But due to the fuel pump kicking off every couple gallons I couldn't fill up just South of Chicago. It was basically 100% interstate driving with about 1/2 dozen spirited accelerations from the toll booths on I294. Total trip average on the stock tune was just shy of 26 mpg.

I'm honestly shocked by a 4 mpg difference from a tune (15% increase over stock). Everyone selling tunes always claims an increase in mpg but I've never seen anything before so to call me skeptical would be an understatement.

I'm not seeing the great mpg's you all are, but it could have something to do with my aggressive driving on the autobahn. I had the chance to go on my first long trip over the extended weekend. Started in Germany, spent the night in Austria (Innsbruck), then on to Italy (Venice and Milan), then headed back north through Switzerland, and finally back to Germany. Crossing over the Alps in Austria and Italy, not through (main road through was closed, so went up and over), which was beautiful, but very tight roads in some places. Drove 1200 miles and got right at 22 mpg...this included some 120+ mph stretches on the autobahn and driving up and down the Alps a couple times, so I thought it wasn't too bad. Also, I have the Unleashed 93 tune loaded, but was limited to 90 fuel in most places I found in Austria and Italy.

Yeah, speed and mountains will definitely bring down the MPGs. This was cruise control around 75 and in pretty much flat land (Northern Indiana thru Wisconsin). It was pretty much ideal conditions for maximizing MPGs as the speed wasn't that high, there was no stopping, and land was flat.
