Anyone know where or if better than single piston calipers are made/sold? Ive seen pictures of either custom or special edition 'SHO' calipers? Were these a one time thing through SHO source? Ive looked on SHOsource's website and they dont even list calipers....

The "SHO" calipers are just Mustang Cobra brakes. You can get them for cheap on ebay or somewhere online. You'll need 17" wheels to fit them.

2003/2004 cobra/mach 1

I believethe bullitt mustang also had the same pbr calipers. Cheapest place I've seen to purchase them is through blueovalindustries.com

no knuckles required. I put new ss brake lines and bought banjo bolts to go with the new calipers. other then that, i just had them thrown on. The rotors wont fit, i believe you have to enlarge the holes a bit.

no question is stupid, right?....so I would also need the cobra rotors, but drill the lug nut holes out and since the rotor is hub centric this will not have to be precision drilling, right?

Ya I just line up the bores then clamp them together drill new holes though the stock rotor holes with 5/8 bit then a use 3/4 to bevel the rear side so it clears the shoulder on the studs.

Sam your confused, The FN74 are for the 96 brake upgrades. Just use the brackets that come with the cobra calipers.

Oh, and if you're looking for info on the SHO engraved calipers:

12" kit: http://shosource.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=11&osCsid=bfa769931a109923d785f6711e31f879

13" kit: http://shosource.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=61_23_19&products_id=10

Note that the 12" and 13" SHO Source kits use mustang rotors which have a different offset. If you want to run these calipers on an 11.6" 96+ rotor (which has the SHO offset) you'll have to get new brackets and redrill/grind them per the instructions in the long post. You can not use the 12" SHO Source kit with 11.6 SHO rotors.

If you're looking for just the brackets, the cheapest I've found them is about $85 apiece. They used to be much cheaper but Ford noticed that everyone and their brother was grabbing any old PBR calipers and buying their brackets cheap instead of visiting the Ford parts counter for the full kit.

Are there any Dual Piston Calipers that fit directly on the 11.6" rotors?

Check the second option of the long Cobra instructions. If you drill .7" in from the stock location on the Cobra brackets, grind down the bump where they mount, then either grind off the old hole or do some grinding on the spindle you can use the Cobra calipers with an 11.6"

Ive looked on SHO Sources website now (thanks for the link, but I was just wondering if ONLY the calipers were available) but it seems odd why the 12" kit SHOS-S3B12 is $110 MORE than the 13" kit when it appears they are identicle except smaller rotors? The 12" works with stock slicers so is this a marketing ploy?

If they are using an actual 12" rotor, it is most likely because that rotor is not cheap and widely available. The 13" Cobra rotor can be found pretty much anywhere, and they redrill it to fit our bolt pattern.

I suspect that if you look at Post # 17 right above yours, it will describe the mods needed to modify them for 16" wheels.
