no option for under 100,000 ... mine has 78,000 ... went ahead with the cam weld, replaced plugs and coil packs, new PS pump and trans. serviced....

Just rolled 230,000 Kilometers and still charging on and upward:)
This car has been well maintained, regular oil changes(Castrol GTX High Milegae) always cared for,she still pulls real hard and was tuned recently and compression tested, the mechanic said the engine is in top form...and in his opinion could go another 100,ooo Kilometers...Dynoed at 250 HP,with aftermarket flow masters,Cold air intake, computer programed..I love this car.

sad part is ...you don't see gen3 sho's going for much money at all....
i would say.....2500-3k.... should be about right....i think they should be worth more, but the taurus is ford's bread and butter and the market is flooded with them....;)

btw, got my 97 sho with 94k for 1200 bucks..(need pump shaft rebuilt)ball joints 2 tires and insspection and a few other things, car is mint and everything works...i got about 3400 into it now with everything done and a perfect car...just turned 95k....

I agree however there are not many SHO'S left, and just mark my word in lets say...hmm..10 years time they will be worth something:)

97 with 173000 on the clock, however just as most have had to, I replace the engine at 130k and tranny at 120k, must say though, even with all of the troubles I will never get rid of my baby!

i just watched my fiance's 96 hit 180k miles on suspected unwelded cams. shes away from having driven this car for 100k. its had regular mantinence, replaced the tranny about a year and a few months ago, and has had the rad replaced. its just starting to miss so i think its time for new coils and plugs as well as seeing if the cams need welding. hopefuly they are already welded but being the 2nd owner on a babied engine i doubt it.

I have a 98 that I bought with 40,000 on it and now have 236,000 on it and drive it everyday! The tranny and engine are original. The cams are welded. Thing still runs great but the tranny has been getting a little "mushy" as of the last 6-8 months. Body has minor rust spots. I will drive it till it doesn't move anymore! It's just too bad they don't make something comparable to this anymore!

A '97 with 186k on it just washed up at a local garage in Ladysmith here on Vancouver island. Red. Dead from recent cam sprocket failure. The garage owner now owns it and is thinking about doing a rebuild. I told him if he decides not to, rather than parting it out, I will buy the carcass from him. Likely I would just use it as a spare parts bin, though, rather than trying to save it. The interior is not great, but the rest looks reasonable on visual.

Damn, my 97 just 83k today and I thought it was getting up there. At least I know that if I keep up on the maintainence, there is a lot of life left in the old SHO

Cluster reads 107k. Mileage is unknown though ever since it was re-imported state side without it's original KM cluster.
