No- lux is lux is lux is lux. Color temp has nothing to do with intensity. Go look it up.

The Lasers have the most lux, they are the brightest- period.

LOL! You're not listening to me. Yes those are brighter and I said true. But those laser ones are just like oem Kelvin color around 4300K. They won't change color to a more white color. So if someone wants to replace their oem bulbs to another set with the exact same color but brighter, then go with the laser.
Like I've said 3 times now, the best bulb for BOTH brightness AND white color is Phillips Xtreme Vision 4800k

Well thanks for the Info, I got a pretty good view on things now. As far as replacing them on the SHO, how easy/hard was it? I would assume a little more on the hard side

Extremely easy! Drivers side you need to take out the air filter box. The passenger side is tight but if you take your time and don't mid getting your hand squished and a few minor scrapes from a tight working area, then it's no big deal.

When you switched to the Phillips from oem, how much of a noticeable difference did you see?

OEM is 4300 I think? The Philips are 4800 but they're also a lot brighter. OEM is around 240 LUX and the Philips is 444 LUX. The color is a lot more pure white. The OEM bulbs I could see some yellow that I didn't like.

OEM is typically 4300K.

Keep in mind that color temp can affect vision depending on conditions. Whiter is better on clear nights and warmer(lower Kelvin) is better in fog/rain/etc so a brighter bulb is not necessarily "better".

This is exactly why I love my Philips bulbs they're around 4800K so they are still considered a "warmer," color great for rain, fog, snow, but they have a noticeable whiter color (less yellow) than the OEM bulbs - and as mentioned they are much brighter too.

I’m more interested in matching the color of the drivebright.com LED running lights. I was thinking around 6000K. How difficult is the change out compared to traditional halogens? This is my first HID vehicle. I can see the housing covers were secured with zip ties from the factory. I am assuming the cover comes off, a 1/4 turn releases the bulb and the base and plug in wires come out. Is that about right? Are there any surprises I might run into?

6k will be way too blueish! My Phillips Xtreme Vision are the brightest on the market today and 4800k, they are extremely close, so close to the same color as my drivebright you wouldn't know. But I think the Phillips White Vision at 5000k would be the best bet.

Hang on!! Do you mean to tell me that those $26.00 8000K HID’s on Amazon aren’t the best thing since sliced bread? LOL

On a serious note, do you know how the Xtreme Vision compares to the White Vision on lux? If you’re happy with the 4800k, and you have the drivebright’s, I’m leaning in that direction.

There's a video on YouTube where they compare all of them and I can't recall the exact difference, but the Xtreme Vision had more Lux that's what I remember.

I have the Philips Xtreme Vision, my 14 SHO is D3S. There's only one kind, but different types as far as D3S, D2S etc depending on year of car.
