HID-like bulbs good or not?

There is a new bulb from Sylvania that is supposed to be brighter than Silverstars. I know it has the word Ultra in the name...

Yea i figured , i just want something better then stock....so the sylvania up to date seams good....

The word on hidplanet is that ithey're a waste of money. Go with Silvania's Xtravision, 1/2 the price of the regular Silverstar, and are brighter and longer lasting, just none of that "white" colour the Silverstars are advertise of having (I don't really see them looking that much different personally).

Xtravisions are what I run in my green car.

When I get my new sable headlight housings for my 95, I might also pick up a harness as well. Along with probably some Silverstars. Should make for a nice upgrade.

I had some cheapy HID-wannabe bulbs from years back...I noticed no difference.

I have the ultra silverstars. I really like em. I upgraded from stock so I'm not sure hom much better they are from silverstars. they are alot brighter now that I sanded my lenses down. (this forum rules!) I have to reseal the passenger side still but all the yellow is gone and the driver side looks brand new.

before i upgraded to hid i had the hid look a like bulbs and they sucked ass. i would never waste my money since they cost way more than the regular bulb but thats only because i have hid hehe...................
