They should be if your looking to replace I would recommend 6000K.....bright enough to make a difference but not so bright as to blind and be overly obvious or obtrusive.

They are 4300k or very close. I changed over to 6000k a little over a week ago. Good upgrade, as Taurussel said. Better light spectrum for driving.

I think there would be some difference. Not an easy change, send me a pm if you would like some details.

Do research into HID output in lumens vs temperature rating. You'll find that 4300k has the highest output and it drops as you vary from that temperature rating. 6000k will actually have less light output. That's not an argument, that's a fact that can be measured by the lumen output of the bulb.

I'm not saying choose 4300k, simply that they have the most light output. I personally also like 6000k as I like the slight blue color over 4300k and light output isn't decreased enough that I noticed a difference.

Like Greg says they are not "sausage finger" friendly but can be done with patience. Good news is you only have to change the bulb......bad news....not much room in the housing but it can be done.

I changed mine to the Philips 5000k Extreme! Pricey but let me tell you it's worth it! The light is absolutely perfect pure white! I noticed with the stock 4300 a lot of yellow actually when I saw my lights on a garage door or comparing them to a German or Acura next to me while driving - these cars use higher Kelvin in their bulbs. Now the light on the road is nice & clean, like I said pure white.

Do you have night pics with the headlights turned on? I'm thinking of upgrading to 5000k also.
