I have a 93 ATX SHO and my problem is when ever I turn the front wheel's I hear a awful rubbing noise, what do you's think it is? It does it when I turn in somewhere and it even does it when I'm just sitting still turning the steering wheel. Please help! I hate this noise its Embarrassing when people ride with me and ask what the **** is that noise.

Does it make this noise when you're sitting still and turning the wheel with the engine off? (I know, it's hard to do)

If not, I'd check the Power Steering fluid level or possibly the pump.

Good luck,

This is at least the fifth topic generated about a similar noise since the weather has gotten really cold. SInce we can't hear the noise, it culd be several things, but the simplest things are the first to look for. Check for rub marks inside the strut tower, up at the very top where the spring pad comes close to and may possibly rub against the outboard side of the strut tower. When it gets cold, the rubber gets harder and tends to make a lot of noise. If this is the case, all you need to do is put some silicone grease (Sil-Glyde) in the interference area to lubricate the rubber and steel interface.

I tried it today and I think it might need to be greased. It didnt do it today cause its in a heated building. So exactly what needs to be greased.
