Does anyone have a spare cable shifter assembly laying around. I will trade for a Rod shifter. The stabilizer cable on mine broke. This leaves me SOL, I cannot find one locally. HELP! If you don't want a rod shifter I would gladly buy just the needed cable!

I found a semi-usable cable out of a white 89' (oddly enough). Some **** head cut the end that hooks to the shifter assembly off so it's a tad too short. This will at least get me by with 1st, 3rd, 5th and reverse but, I am still on the hunt.

Hey Jim. I have one out of an 89, but its buried in the garage someplace, haven't seen it for years. Any chance the ends could be clamped on a new section of cable?

On mine, the cable itself snapped 4 inches from the trans. I found the one out if that 89' but the end was cut off so it's about an inch too short and won't engage 2nd and 4th. I am going to go grab the shifter assembly out of that car and modify it to work for now. BTW I'm using the metal end sockets from SHOsource.

OK, in order to make the short cable completely usable I had to modify the shift lever to get more "throw" pulling back on the cable. I actually like how it feels... I seem to get more leverage while shifting. Enclosed is a couple of shots of the rare donor vehilce and how the shifter sits in my car while 2nd gear is engaged.

Back in Michigan ... again.
Def Leppard, Led Zepplin and Yes..... cassettes????

Where's that White 89, and why is it sitting in a junkyard? It doesn't look too bad; somebody needs to save that car!

Yeah, it definately doesn't look like it's in a Michigan junk yard, there's no rust on it!!!!

That white 89' is sitting in Cherry Picked Auto parts on Detroit Ave. here in town. It really isn't too bad, interior is decent, doglegs are good, there is some rust on the RR 1/4 and trunk and that dent in the driver's door. I have to assume this car didn't live in Ohio it's whole life either. Of course I still bump some cassettes in my converted JBL, I'm straight 80's *****.

Ok, all of this distraction of a white 89 and I didn't realize that you have a cable shifter in your 95? Any particular reason?
