The ATX tensioner is just above and to the left the crank pulley (or below and to the left of the water pump pulley).

Just put an appropriate sized socket of offset box wrench on it (the size escapes me at the moment, I'm thinking 15mm), and rotate it clockwise and that will release the tension and allow you so slip the belt off the alternator. Just reverse to reinstall the belt on the new alt.

You're going to need a 5mm? allen to adjust the tension. To release tension loosen the nut on the front and turn the allen screw on the top of the bracket. When you retension the belt turn the allen screw to apply the correct amount of tension and lock it in place by tightening the nut on the front of the pulley. I have an mtx so I'm not sure which direction the tensioner moves to loosen/tighten. It depends if the tension is with the pulley pushing up on the belt or pushing down on it. Thanks for the sig. thumbs_u

You can't miss the tensioner pulley. It should be smooth on the running surface while the accessory pulleys should have grooves/ridges to match the belt pattern.

The ATX tensioner does not require the 6mm allen wrench, it is 'always' set, and just needs the 14/15mm wrench turned clockwise to release the tension.

With the hood open, look to the right of the hood latch in the engine bay and you should find the info on belt routing and which one is the tensioner for releasing the belt. That is unless somebody removed it and didn't put it back on. I think it takes a 17mm socket to release the tensioner.
