My '94's windows (all but drivers) will not go up from any switch. They all go down just fine, but won't go back up. I plugged a spare motor into the front pass side and it behaved the exact same as the installed motor. When I pull the motor out I can move the window back up with no odd resistance. Even without the motor installed, it will only turn in one direction.

I'm confused as to what would keep the window from traveling in one direction only, from all switches.

I had similar problems with getting my rear windows to go back up using the drivers switch. It would go down fine, but up only from the rear door switches. I pulled the drivers door panel off and pulled out the switch module and pulled all the switches apart. I cleaned them real good and put it back together and they work almost perfectly. I think I coulda cleaned them a bit better. Once in a while on window still hesitates, but other than that they work fine. Try cleaning your switches, I bet it will help.

I've cleaned the switches many times over the years, and that's not even working anymore. It doesn't work from any switch, and there's not even an effort at this point, just no response.

The tracks are lubricated. I have to move the window up by hand (after pulling the motor) when I accidentally hit the down button of the wrong window on the driver's side.

Cleaning the contact points on the switches is usually a short term fix. It will usually work, but not for long.

It is important to lubricate the gear mechanism in the motors and the other components that guide the windows. It also helps to clean up the commutator on the motor with fine sandpaper, like 600 wet/dry sandpaper.
The bearing surfaces in the motor can use a little luberication such as Lubri-plate, or anti sieze conpound (just a little).

It is a good idea to test the wire harness between the master switch and the window motors, as well as the connections. The motors can be tested in place with a 12 volt source (battery). If they move slowly, try cleaning them, otherwise replace them. Often the source of slow movement is a gummed up regulator. The grease gets dried up and gummed up with dirt. Cleanout the crud and put in fresh lubricant.

Is the battery weak? Check your positive and negative cable connections at the basttery and at the other end.
