(Car cranks but will not start) Last night I put starting fluid in the throttle body to see if I was getting spark. I got spark and the engine ran until the fluid burned off. The I checked to see if there was any pressure in the fuel rail , there was none. So the assumtion is that it is the fuel pump. Now before I pull the tank or cut a hole under the seat is there anything I should test before I doo this (and how and where)? The hardest part about this is I have no books pictures etc to verify what I am doing, so it is just trusting my seneral know how or not know how. Thanks in advance for replies.

Ya sounds like your not getting any fuel. First thing to check is in the truck drivers side before the wheel well behind the carpet there is a fuel reset switch. If you went over a sharp bump or if some was to bang on your rear fender it can trip this switch and your fuel pump will not run.

After that, turn the key to run before you engage the starter and you should hear the fuel pump come on briefly to prime the system.
