My 1989 SHO with 213K miles will die after a few minutes of running good. Then it cranks, and cranks, and cranks, not firing not wanting to start. It's almost like there's no spark. The car has been sitting for two years with a full tank of fuel with stabilizer added to keep it fresh. I run it every once and a while, but now this! What should I check?

Start by reading the codes. There are links to sites with instructions in my signature. You can do it yourself with something as simple as a paperclip or short piece of wire. This will get you well on your way to diagnosing and resolving the problem.

When it dies, does the tach instantly drop to zero? Does it register while cranking? Does the car have a coolant leak? Is the fuel pump really noisy (audible in the car at idle)?
