Hello i am new here, but I have had my SHO for several months. I didn't know that anything like this existed. But here is my problem, when I take off from a dead stop and just go wide open throttle til about 90-95mph there is a patter noise coming from my motor and it is sort of loud. But above about 2300 rpms it can not be heard. but all i have to do it turn the car off for about 3 minutes or so and it is gone. This is the only time it does it, i can open it up from a rolling start and it won't do it no matter how hard i run it. The temp gauge is usually above the A a little when it is happening. any suggestion. i am pretty worried but when it is pattering it doesn't seem like it loses any power.

It could be from the valve train long overdue for a valve gap adjustment or a connecting rod bearing with a poor oil history. Kinda hard to tell from here. Is it from the top of the engine (valve train) or the bottom (connecting rod bearings)?
