There was a check engine light problem with my car and my transmission was acting funny. It shifts really hard into gears 1 and 2, but shifts from 3 to 4 fine. It downshifts really hard from 2 to 1 gear, also bumps really hard to downshift itself. I mainly see this problem happening on normal street driving rarely ever happens on the highway. Doesn't happen all the time either only when the car gets heated up. My speedo gets a little wacky from 20 to 0 and starts shaking. My cruise control doesn't work at all either. I was figuring the vehicle speed sensor was the problem so I had my codes checked and the vss code (452) came up and another code for a ground somewhere or shorted wire came up. Could the shorted wire or ground have anything to do with the vss? I am going to get the vss replaced tomorrow but don't want to spend a ton of money if the problem isn't going to be fixed if there is a possibility of a ground that could cause the vss to mess itself up. I know replacing the vss is a pain in the butt on an atx too. Any help is highly appreciated. Please reply back as soon as anybody can because the car is going in tomorrow and I would like to get this problem solved considering it doesn't feel to healthy driving the car the way its shifting.
