Im having problems with my 93 sho. I have no idea what could be wrong with it so ill just explain it. It starts up and runs good when its cold. When the engine warms up it hesitates when you hold the gas at a steady speed. When you accelerate it runs fine. Sometimes it hesitates so hard that the engine shakes. I know i have 1 broke motor mount but im didnt think that this could be the problem. My check engine light comes on and off whenever it wants to and I havent been able to get it tested because no one around here does 95 or lower. It only acts up when the car is in gear. If you hold the gas steady in park or in neutral it sound fine. Another thing that happenes is if I roll to a stop sign or light and slow down enough with the car in gear the engine cuts off, so i have to shift to neutral at lights to keep it running. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

dont spend money to get the codes pulled.

it easy once u get used to it. you will prolly need O2 sensors, also pull out your spark plug boots and see the oil in the plug wells...that makes the wires and spark plugs connection not so good. also how old are your spark plugs? consider a tune up

When I do the paper clip thing to get codes I get confused. I dont know iff I should start with the first blink that is barley visible (it blinks but is very dim) or do I skip that one. When the check engine light blinks its not as clear and distinct as the example on the link above.

Have you tried going to Autozone, Shuck's, Checker, Cragen, Pep Boys etc to get the codes pulled? THey will usually do it for free. I have not pulled codes with a paper clip for a while (I am lazy and use a code reader), but the codes should be pretty distinct.

Good luck. Knowing the codes is the key to your problem.

If you have trouble deciphering the codes from the check engine light inside the car, just buy a cheap tester at autozone or pep boys. For about $35 or so, you can get one the will blink the codes at the connector under the hood, or even beep them to you. You might also try writing down the codes as you think they are, then use the last number of the first code with the first number of the next code to make a whole new list. Then see which list makes the most sense.

I had sort of the same problem with my 1990 SHO and it turned out to be the camshaft position sensor, which will fail, or act up, and set a code, but won't turn on the check engine light.
