I bought a 2010 certified pre-owned SHO with 56000 miles and the 402A package. The car is red and have a brown and black interior which is very rare to find but 3 days after i bought the car i had to take it to the shop for blowing only cold and i live in NJ which the dealer fixed now i realized that my forward collision warning is not working. I only had the car for one week and two issues already, wasn't it be supposed to be the honeymoon phase for during the first week? I tried to get Ford Premium Care and they told me i am not eligible (maybe due to the year and mileage) and now because all the negative comments i have been reading about the car i am so paranoid about the car. When i am driving it instead of enjoying the car i am trying to detect any little noise. Talking of noise I notice a rubbing noise when Iam driving like 5mph more pronounced when I brake. I have a couple question guys and i'd deeply appreciate your input.
1)Where can i get a very good extended warranty?
2)Should the car keep presenting issue what recourse i have after the 30 day warranty?
3) Since the car is certified can i contact Ford about these issues? (I've been wondering how could they certify a car that doesn't have no heat in winter.
4) If more problems are occuring (which i don't wish for myself) should i file a lemon lawsuit?
Feel free to advice me guys on this matter. Thanks in advance.

1. I am a little confused by your statements - the car is Ford CPO? and you have the warranty? or it was not transferred to you? Because if you still have the CPO warranty, as long as it is in place you can extend it. If the dealer is not helping you, call another dealer.
2. 4. The lemon law applies to the same issue appearing 3 times or more. Unless/until you have that situation, there is no point in making any kind of lemon law claim (although of course anyone can sue anyone for no/any reason, the way to handle a lemon situation is not to sue, but to go to the dealer and demand that the manufacturer buy back the vehicle.)
3. Until we understand the current warranty situation, we cannot advise you further.

Wouldn't worry about having to get a few things fixed under warranty. Just be vigilant and follow through. No car is going to be 100% free of issues, and even if it is, the owner's sensitivities may be different than what the manufacturer calibrates their vehicles to. You can buy a Ford ESP plan online much cheaper than at the dealer day. Don't bother with aftermarket plans.

As far as the collision warning, possibly a sensor or two in the front bumper needs to be replaced, should be a no-brainer for the dealer to figure it out. Now the rubbing sound. Is it a rubbery sound? Does it happen more on a smooth surface, or on a bumpy roadway? Could be your car needs an alignment plain and simple. Is the suspension stock? Sometimes the brake mounting hardware or caliper boots can create this sound as well.

Most if not all the issues with the 2010-12 SHOs have been figured out and addressed, there is probably a TSB out there that will expand on the problem/solution.

It's a rubbing sound the car makes when driving slowly louder when braking but it disappears once the car hit 30mph. I will be taking it to the dealership on Monday . I do love the car but I think the first week after you buy a vehicle is supposed to be the smoothest I am coming from a 2011 Ford Mustang gt premium and never I had to deal with such issues.
About the warranty it covers everything in the car for 30 days that's the dealership warranty and as a cpo I don't really know how much it covers and how long.

First, the issues you experienced would be covered by the CPO warranty, even if the dealer did not have the 30-day "we cover anything" warranty.

Second, as long as the CPO warranty is in force, you should be able to add Ford ESP, so if the dealer is not wanting to cooperate with that, contact another dealer.

The no heat issue was likely as simple as either needing to top off the coolant recovery tank, changing a $25 temp sensor in the climate control system, or replacing a $25 actuator. I wouldn't let any of those issues get you too excited. The rubbing noise you hear is probably just a layer of rust on the brake rotors due to the car sitting on the dealer's lot for a while and/or due to them washing it before you picked it up. That sound should go away after a few stops. And, yes, it may return, but that is typical of a brake rotor, not something specific to your car.

Without knowing specifically what the dealer needed to do to fix the no heat issue, or confirming rust on the brake rotors, I'd still not let these issues get you too worried.

Is your forward collision warning turned off? Mine has 86k on the odometer and no problems other than the torque steering i have posted in another thread. I know it really helps to read the owners manual from front to back on these cars. I found out all kinds of things that I had no idea I could do with mine.
ie: I thought my windshield wipers were going bad, they kept speeding up and slowing down on their own, read the owners manual and found it has a variable speed wiper system that senses the moisture on your windshield and automatically adjusts your wiper speed.

Also, it's a used car, no warranty unless you purchased one from the dealer or Ford, and if they don't honor that warranty, then you have more problems than the car.
Again it is a used car, Lemon Laws do not apply to used cars. You get what you buy, unless you purchased the extra warranty.
Sounds like simple fixes on your car, don't get discouraged, you've got a nice ride, enjoy it.

Tnx to all of you guys for your input. All the issues were fixed and the car is driving like a charm now I ain't gonna jinx it cause I am planning on keeping the car for a long time. I am loving the ride so far and I will see how far it will take me hopefully 150k miles.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your 2010 SHO. I bought mine new, in December '09 and now have 154,000 basically trouble free miles other than an oxygen sensor that went out, air actuator door, and a rear wheel bearing. Otherwise, all basic maintenance. It's been a fabulous car over the last five years. I've got it loaded with everything except adaptive cruise control.

I just found out the lumbar function isn't working in my seat but the one in the passenger side does work. I'd like to know if I can go to another ford dealership and get everything in the car checked now will I have to pay a fee for that which I don't want to. The car is cpo and is still covered.

the way the cpo warranty works is you pay a deductible each time you bring it in, not each issue that you identify, so if you collect up several issues and bring it in once for all of them, then you only pay the deductible once.
