HELP my auto climate is out of control

i have a 91 sho and whenever i turn my climate control to OFF the defrost turns on full blast and i dont want it on obviously i want it off. its obnoxious as ****. i ran the hvac control in test mode and it came up with all 8's so its functioning according to my friend the ford tech. so idk what could it be? anyone have this problem before?

Was it always like that? Did you change your unit recently? Because some lincoln hard buttons does not plug and play , and when it's off , its full blast. Been there done that.

nah its the original soft button unit from the factory i have every record of service and parts it was never replaced it just started doing it on saturday night idk what the deal is with it

Did you do any work to the car recently? Sounds like you have a bad ground some where behind the dash.

Blower control module. From another thread:

Expensive new, maybe post a WTB thread and someone here can help you out? Or, a junkyard. Sables with auto climate control also had these.

my 90 did the same thing ,changed the blower speed controler inside the blower box n it was fairly easy job,got mine outaof a 95 in the junk yard paid 5 bucks think the lincoln contys were the same too also mk IIV
