I just finished putting all the nuts and bolts back on the intake manifold. I was trying to change the plug wires. After following the instructions on shotimes.com, the damn thing wouldn't come off. The guy in the instructions said he didn't remove a larger bolt in the left rear of the manifold. Could that be the reason it didn't come off. He's everthing I did. I removed the 12 10mm bolts on the runners, 2 12 mm bolts on the front supports.one 12mm bolt on the right, 5 or 6 10mm bolts on the left side. The 2 12mm nuts and 2 12mm bolts from the trottle body. 4 electrical connecters from rear, right and left. 1 hose from the back and 3 hoses from the throttle body. Then, I try the lift I and it wouldn't come off. When I reassembled the everything and started the engine, a light whistling noice came from the engine comparment.
what didn't I do and what should I do. Also, when I finally get to the plug wires, is there a exact procedure to do or just change them in any order. (I know about the dielectic gunk)

I never understood why he didn't remove that big bolt either. There is a large nut that is used for the DIS ground, remove that. Then remove the bracket like you did the others, however I think it is a bolt with a stud on it for the DIS ground (if I'm remembering correctly) and will take a deep well socket or open end wrench to remove. It's tight back there so take your time and be patient, especially when putting this bracket back on. If this is an ATX, you'll need to remove the EGR valve from the manifold as well. SDPatt has a better step by step procedure for manifold removal,he will gladly mail you it if you ask.

sunny San Juan Bautista,
He probably didn't remove the bolt (stud) because if you loosen it it's possible for the bracket to slip off.

The whistling sound is a vacuum leak. Maybe you have something trapped between the intake and the heads (a hose?)
