I was replacing a coolant hose on my 98 today and broke the coolant y behind the power steering pump. What is the easiest way to replace that y? Do I have to remove the power steering pump or is there and easier way to do it. Also where can I get a metal or brass one to replace it with?

Funny you should ask that. I need to repair a friends SHO here real soon with the exact same problem. I'm figuring pulling the intake and LIM to make it an easier task, if you can even call it that. I'm waiting to see about the metal Y too. :munch:

I've done it both ways. A little easier and faster to pull the power steering pump, IMO.

Availability on a metal "Y"? Hmmmm. I got some brass ones a while back but I forget where.Something like SMC corp or Festo. ? ?

So yanking the P/S pump is easier than removing the rest of it huh? Thats good to know as I have to replace my P/S pump on my supercharged Gen 3, and I was dreading taking all the crap off again. :hail: Looks like 2 back to back pump removals for me. :nut:

Bad News Maybe

Well went all over town Friday to try and find a Y and no parts store to in clued NAPA had it or could even order it. So I went to the one place I knew would have it the dealer ship right. Wrong they tell me the parts been discontinued. So I am wondering if anyone else has been told this or what the part # is for the part?
