HELP!!!!93 mtx shifter spinning

I just acquired a 93 mtx..I started driving it and notice the shifter handle moves and spins.
It makes driving difficult. I took console apart and its nothing I can see from topside.
Can this be fixed or welded? What happened? ???

Handle is broken, you'll have to find another that isn't.

I would say pull the assembly out and see if it can be repaired, not likely but it has to be removed anyway.

Yeah. It's broken in the assembly where it pivots. You need to drop the back half of the shifter from under the car (2 13mm nuts) and then unbolt the shifter handle to remove it (4 10mm bolts)

Looks like this bushing is done.i was trying to twist on a new leather shift ****
That was supposed to fit and I over twisted it.these are avail at shoshource I believe. ..
