well this has been occuring for quite some time now, but if i rev the motor in neutral everything sounds fine,, but if i start to take off it'll chug pretty hard untill about 15 -20mph, then if your just driving & hit the gas it wants to fall on its face.

Could this be the fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator?

thanks in adavnce!:thumb:

have you checked your plugs lately, mine used to chug on acceleration sometimes when i had oil in my plugwells, but since i replaced the seals, plugs and wires i havent had any chugging problems. im not an expert by any means but its just a thought

Have you run the codes on it? I agree with BangSHO, Plug wires and plugs are a good place to look also. If you have a inductive timing light, hook the lead to each of the plug wires as the engine is idling to see if they are all firing at low RPMs.

Start with the codes. Also, you may want to clean the MAF. Or try to run it without it. If it runs better with it disconnected, that would be a good place to start.

ok so i got a chance to drive the SHO again this weekend, all the original problems still exist, but another thing i noticed was from take off that it will fall on its face at 1/4 throtle just as it would at full, so it takes a while to get some rpms built up. but man just as i was about to give up on her I got it to rev up & kick the secondarys open & for a brief moment she was the same hot rod that i remember.

Testing the codes-
I don't belive the check engine light is on, would there be any codes to read?

Checking on the cats-
how is this accomplished exactly? & if this would be the problem, could it run with the cats removed? or would there be to great of a loss in backpressure.

Fuel pressure-
a few months ago we check for fuel pressure with a old crappy gauge & if i remember correct it was reeding atleast 60psi. is that too low?

not really,, but i do remember seeing oil on top of the valve cover, & it seemed like it was comming from the plug wells. so I'm sure it all needs replaced. I know for sure that it needs the 60K done, but i only wanted to tear it apart once, so i was saving the plugs & wires for then,, my plan is to make sure it not fuel delivery of somthing out side of the motor, then if it comes down to it I'll just do the 60K.

what all would i be waisting if i replaced the plugs & wires now,, then ended up doing the 60K say 6 months from now?
