Hey All. First post. Long story short, I did engine/trans swap from one 93 ATX, which I have owned for about 7 years, to another. Both engine and trans worked just fine before swap. Have car running now but trans acting up. Hard down shift upon slow down, appears also overdrive not working. Fluid level is up where it should be. Do have codes pointing to open curcuit in power steering. Don't have the code #'s now. Can get them later.

Any Ideas??

Welcome to the forum!

Codes will definitely help out here, also, check your VSS and make sure it's plugged in.

My gut says VSS ( Vehicle speed sensor ) .... Have fun with that, when the transmission is in the car.

Or the range sensor. On top of the unit where the linkage connects.

Thanks. Yes it is the VSS, not plugged in. What a drag. Oh well, at least now I know where I screwed up.

Thanks! Well, I got it plugged in. I had to remove the exhaust manifold. Is the manifold gasket re-usable? Know a good place to to get just that gasket if needed?
