heli coil size for camshaft cap?

Help! I stripped 2 camshaft cap bolts. What size are they? Will a heli coil work? Any info is appreciated.

Stock size is M7 - 1.0 - 40mm

You can helicoil them, however, you have to carefully remove the dowels so that you do not damage them. You'll have to reinstall them after you fix the threads. I stripped on a while back and will be having several of mine helicoiled for safe measure.

M7 x 1.0m

The kit comes with the 9/32nd drill bit and tap that is required.

How did you remove the dowels without damaging them???

Got the plus all fixed up. Put down 257WHP on the motor, un-tuned. Check out the liberty sho club for more info.

Sorry for bumping this really really old thread but Brian how did you remove the locating dowels?
