Question...

Does the v8 SHO heater only work so-so? Like hardly no performance at idle, and mediocore luke warm at speeds above 2,000 rpm? Does the water pump not move much at all at low rpm?

I usuallly don't have issues with the heat. The pump does look like a slow mover at idle. Look at the little belt with the hood up.

Yep, good point, thats why i assume this might be normal, not like the T-stat is failed or anything, just doesn't really produce heat untill you get that water pump rolling.

Never had a problem with the heat. You do flush and change coolant every two years?

I have no idea the maintenace history of this vehicle. I will need to look into it. Seems like overwhelming response is "its not suspposed to be that bad"

Find both hoses that go into your heater core. Remove them on the engine side and take your hose and flush through both ways several times. Top off coolant and try again. If this doesn't work, remove hoses again and blow out the heater core with air and dump some toilet bowl cleaner in. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes (no more than 10). Flush it all out with your hose again. Put it back together and top off and you should have heat!

Crap, I didn't realize this was a 2 year bump. Oh well, good info anyways....
