my heat will only work when i push the fan/ventilator **** all the way up (to the max/when the little ventilator appears on the screen) and then it will work, but only in that possition. When you put it lower than that it dies out, and once again, it only will start up when you push the **** all the way to the top. I have no clue what the cause is?

I feel your pain. I posted the same question, but i think i deleted it. Anyway its your blower control module. You will find it under the glove box, you will have to remove the under dash paneling to get to it.

Chuckels is right. I found it under the glove box, behind the cover, closer to the middle of the car. It's mounted into the air duct. I guess the airflow helps cool the power transitor. I got lucky and found the same module on a Lincoln with auto climate in the junk yard. Ford dealer wanted $110. I got it for $10.

It also blows whatever condesation that's in the vent line on the module which is what kills them. Mine will go on the blink after a hard driving rainstorm. A day or two later, once everything dries out it's fine.

I've got a picture but, can't post it to my website right now. If you want to email me I'll reply with the picture. I knew there was a reason I didn't put the sheild back in place.

It's the only eletric thing behind the sheild, it's rectangular, 2 screws, and 4 wires orange, yellow, brown, black.

my address is in my profile.

Search for "blower control module" or "BCM" in the Electronics & Audio section. There's lots of information to be found there on this problem, including a few pictures. I was going to link a post for you, but there's so many, you may as well wade through them and get all the info you need. If you can't find everything you need there, PM me and I'll get you some more details.
