i have converted the bulbs in my sho to a 10000k hid now i can see much much better at night ... i did however open my housing and removed the chrome cap looking thing that sat over the bulb itself ... as my hid was rubbing on it .. appears much more brighter with them removed ... question is do those cover things serve any real pourpose?

yeah, they keep oncoming drivers from DRIVING THE F*** OFF THE ROAD BECAUSE THEY CAN'T SEE A ******* THING BECAUSE THERE ARE HIDs RIGHT IN THEIR FREAKING EYES.

Do you honestly just not care at all about other people? :shakehead

What my friend is trying to say is that it scatters the light. So you have the same effective light distribution without blinding oncoming drivers. The housings are made to create a certain beam.

Also, 10,000K? srsly? You're probably one of those people who believe that the higher the temperature of the bulb, the more light it puts out, right? :laugh_ti:

not quite ... i know the temp deal and the output .. i prefer the 10000k for the bluish effect and ease on my eyes ..was actually contemplating on running 5000k... as for them blinding people .. i had a cop ask me where i had got them and how much .. said he wanted to put some in his personal car .. so they cant be that bad ... also i aim my beams proporly not aimed so that i make it fly into ones windshield ;)
