headligghts or radio ???

hey I jsut installed a new cd player and 2 '12 subs. I cut the harness and wired it all myself. it worked ok but now i notice that i cant start the car with the radio on well barley it keeps tryin to die, and i cannot turn on my lights and stero at the same time. but i can hold the highbeams. i heard this might be caused from cuttin the factory harness ? ANY IDEAS PLZ

its definately happening over the fact that you cut the harness. Why did you cut the harness when you could just buy one that would clip into your existing harness. Cutting the harness in itself isnt the problem. You have something wired wrong. Get a radio schematic for your car or rewire your factory harness and buy a harness at walmart or something that will fot into the factory harness.

How many watts are you pushing? What happens when you turn off the radio? how old is your battery? what voltage is your alternater putting out?

My best guess is that you are using an illumination wire as a ground or a power wire. IM guessing ground. Because when you turn your lights on it isnt ground any longer. and when lights are off, your not running full voltage.
