On my new SHO I can't get the hazard lights to work, when I pop out the switch nothing happens, also while out the directional signals will not work, when I push it back in the direction signals still wont work for about a minute, any ideas?

Have you checked your fuses and/or multi function lever? Also IMO, the hazard button is backwards - up is on, down is off.

Thats what I meant, up is on down is off, there's a fuse for the hazards? I'm still learning but any pictures or diagrams or way to tell if a fuse is blown would be helpful :)

The thing with them not working when the switch is on, is normal. Just the way they wired the circuit. I believe there are diagrams in a sticky around here somewhere.

Well I just checked a diagram of my truck, which is strangly similar to the sho in many respects, and it looks like it runs from the boo switch, to the hazard, then the MFS. If you have brake lights, and when popping the hazard switch your turn signals dont work, makes me think those 2 are fine. It's almost gotta be the MFS. ?

I think its fuse #1 somewhere in the bottom left region, pull it out (or pull all them out) and look to see if the small metal bridge in the middle has blown out

I had that problem on my 91 the multi function switch needed taken apart and cleaned, my hazards , or my turn signals wouldnt work at all. Then I took it off and took it apart, alot of the contacts were green so I got some cotton swabs and rubbing alcohol and cleaned all the contacts inside,I used a light sand paper to ,put it all back togther put it back on, and I havent had a problem since.

Yes, clean your MFS. It's fairly easy and definitely cheap. If you're having wiper problems, this is also a common culprit.

Its that stalk on ur steering column that you push up and down for turn signals and push forward for brights , you can get to it, by removing ur steering column shroud, and taking out the bolts that hold it on and taking it apart and cleaning it.Be careful though it has springs inside you dont want to pop out or pop loose. Here are a couple pages to check out.

When I turn mine on only the left directional appears on the dash. Not sure if they all work.

My old SHO did that, I'd just simply turn on the right directional to match.

Im having the same sort of issue. I about 3 months ago ended up having my wipers go out on me and the motor was making a grinding noise. So I switched that out. It worked well for a bit then my wipers just quit working for me. So I changed out the MFS as it was the original and put a new one in. Had that one in for a week and The pivot pin broke off that kept the blinker going till you made your turn. So I ended up pulling that out and bringing it back to napa and got a new one in exchange. Replaced that and put it into my car and have been driving with it for about a month now and for the last week my blinkers would randomly work. Then they when they would work sometimes they blinked slow and long and sometimes it was 5 seconds or more between blinks. Finally this weekend it decided to just stop working all together. No hazards, no blinkers, however my brights work. The wipers work. the Washerfluid works.

Would you say that I yet again have to go and replace out this switch again? I have read over the cleaning procedure and Have done that as well but it seems to be doing the same thing.

One thing however I have as well gone over all of my fuses and none of them are blown as I replaced them all with new ones as well.

Any Further things I can do to check or would you suggest for me to just bring it back in and see if I can yet again exchange it for another?

This is really starting to hassle me.
