Having probelm loading tune

2010 Taurus SHO

1) plug device into obd2

2) press and hold start button with foot off break till gauges sweep

3) press Y to enter tuning mode

4) select tune and press Y to continue

5) devices tells me to shut off ignition and press Y to continue

6) I press the engine start/stop button and open and close drivers door. Then press Y

7) devices tells me to please turn ignition back on

8) I press and hold hold start button till gauges sweep

Then steps 5-8 just repeat over and over

What kind of device are you using, SCT or mycal?

I can tell you that you can skip the opening and closing driver door.

When it tells you turn off the ignition you just tap the engine start button. When it tells you turn the ignition to the 'Run' position, you need to hold the button for four or five seconds, otherwise you are putting it in 'accessory' mode instead of 'Run'. Are you doing that?

yes I have been doing that, do I need to close the door or leave it open

I leave the door closed during the entire process.

I closed the door and it said program was interrupted changing back to factory settings and I don't see my tunes no more

You could try hooking the tuner up to your computer to download tunes again, but other than that I would suggest emailing Livernois for support.

No problem, sorry couldn't be of more help. I had issues when I got a tune from another vendor with the SCT device so I know how frustrating it is to not be able to load it when you get it.

You probably have the older MyCal, but here is the Livernois video for their current edition

Stupid Q, but are there any codes present? That will prevent the tune from loading and need to be cleared (by the MyCal) as a prerequisite.

I have the new mycal and code comes up p1000 and clear it, and says programming was interupted

p1000 is a generic code for when the PCM is flashed/emissions monitors have been reset, and can only be taken away after the car relearns and satisfies the emissions monitors (see manual for inspection readiness steps). Once you do that, try flashing the PCM again. Doesn't look like the MyCal can bypass it.

Could be faulty MyCal! I had to return mine as it was a POS and never worked! But LMS and their great customer service sent me a new one asap and it's been great!

Just got my new tuner it was faulty tuner.. good to go now
