I have a Schroth 4-point system in mine ("Rallye-4"). It uses the stock front lower mount points (lap belt) and the rear belt mount points for the shoulder belts. There's no drilling, etc. www.schroth.com

Cost was about $190 for one seat, deluxe with pull-handles & shoulder belt pads. Write up & pics on the forum main page, as well as http://members.home.com/fhurderjr/sho.htm

I have also seen a more custom install incorporating a bar behind the front seats, attaching to the B/C pillar area, and using 5-point Simpson harnesses.

Tim D. (Toolman) had a neat setup that I got to try out while riding shotgun at Hallet. I wish I could remember the name of the harness, but it was a 4 point.
I think it buckled into the backseat buckles so it made it easy to remove.

I am also using the Schroth 4 point harness. It kicks ass. You can disconnect it and use the stock belts when driving around the city, and then when you want to do some serious driving just strap yourself in to become one piece with the car. Fred did a great write up on the installation.

I have the less expensive harness system that Summit sells. Only $60. I like them better than the Schroth because the belts are wider (plus the price is much better). It takes no extra hardware save for a scavenged snap from a donor Taurus. Total install time was less than 30 min. It comes with a submarine belt as well, but I only have it set up as a 4-point system. I will be getting a quick release system next time (maybe spring for the Simpsom).

If you do not have access to a Summit catalog, go to summitracing.com and do a search for rjs harness. The 5-point non-quick release harness sells for $66. I have a pair (as in two sets) of harnesses that I will sell to you for $120 including shipping and the extra Taurus seat belt peices. That way you can unsnap the shoulder belts anytime and the lap belts are all that is permamntly mounted in the car. I will have some pics up tonight. I have only used them for the SHO Convention and two race sessions at my track (the passenger side was used during the Convention only). The only reason I am selling is because I want the quick-release type (they sell for $130 each from summit if you want those).

Here is a pic. The shoulder harness snaps right into the rear seat belts. This makes it a snap to remove. Then you can just tuck the lap belt away and use the stock belts (which are all intact).

Saw Kirk's Simpson setup on his 97 SHO yesterday. Pretty nice, actually. 2 minutes & you're 4-pointed. Totally concealled when not in use. God I wish the Gen 2's had the fold-down rear seats...

Yep, and I must say the harness worked very well.
Tim, you should come down and meet up with the LSSHOC the 15th of this month. Eddie (guy in the club) is having his big b-day party (he's buying) and he is expecting about 10 SHO people. Laurence is staying at my house, and you are more than welcome to join us, if you can get the time off on very short notice. I'll buy your racing harness from you and we can save shipping =)

Sounds like fun, but I am planning on attending a party in Kansas Friday night. Not that I haven't made a trip from Dallas to said place in Kansas in an afternoon, but I probably will not feel like driving. Anyway, the price for the harness inlcudes shipping, so it would be more if I hand delivered

Eric, I do not believe it is the Jr dragster. My invoice from Summit reads simply '5 way harness'. Here is the part number: BOB-50502-17-233. The 233 is the color I believe.
